About

Ricardo Don,

Poços de Caldas, MG, Brazil. 1987

He is a multidisciplinary Brazilian artist, based in Lisbon, who works with visual arts, music production and performance.

Graduated in design from the University of Franca (BR-2009) and digital artist since 2012, he is also part of the Venga Venga duo, a music and performance project, together with her husband Denny Azevedo, since 2013, with which he launched 3 musical Eps: Folclore do Futuro, Seres Híbridos e Seres Híbridos Remixed.

His visual work is a frantic mixture: overlapping elements, exuberance of colors and textures that give rise to kaleidoscopic visions, almost surreal, an identity patchwork between past and future.

In 2016, he produced the exhibition Doces Barbas, at the I Mostra Diversa, (part of the collection of the Museum of Diversity of Sao Paulo) and more than 50 happenings in Brazil between 2013 and 2018 in places such as Museum of Contemporary Art of São Paulo, FUNARTE and Banco do Brasil Cultural Center.

His recent works include the performance “Cortejo ao Caboclo Presidente” performed at the Inhotim Museum in 2018; performance "Caras Pintadas" (2020) at Galeria SeedHouse Lisboa; and the “Cortejo Neo-Parangolés”, opening of the exhibition Ocupa70 (2019) at the Casa70 Lisboa gallery, where he also exhibited his digital art series “Teia das Memórias”, part of Artweek Lisboa.
